:help2::help2::help2: i was in springfeild mo about a week ago ( do most of my fish shopping there) and id been looking at loaches for awhile mainly the kuhli loaches .. but i saw a horse face loach and decided to get it i know that they need to be in groups of 3 or more and right now i only have one hes guppy size and in my guppy tank so he wont become a mid night snack for my sleeper goby .. but my questions are what will they get along with ... any special needs ... ive already been to loaches.com and read up about him but that really didnt fill my curiosity up so im ihoping you guys can help me please thanks!:help2::help2:

I used to have these guys in my community tank.:) They'll get along with several small community fish. These are also burrowers so do make sure the substrate has no sharp edges which can hurt them. Cover any filter intakes or else you'll find them in filtration systems.

i was planning putting him and his buddies ( onces i get them) in my 75 with 2 angels a pleco and a sleeper goby .. and my subtrate being creek gravel will that be ok?

I've never kept sleeper gobies. What pleco do you have? If it's a common plec, then it'll be too boisterous for the horse-faced loaches. Angels are not a problem.

im not sure he has 2 sets of spines going down his bak and spines on his sides also i got him at the local lfs

Pictures will help to identify your plec. I think that is a sleeper in your avatar. If he is that big, chances are he'll eat all your serpentine loaches. Serpentine-bodied loaches are quite vulnerable to predation.

yeah thats him hes a temp resident of my 55 right now.. my loach is stayin in my guppy tank case hes no longer then a guppy and skinny too. my b/f said he was a common pleco..my sleeper is about 7-8 inches long right now and i wasnt planning putiing them in together till my loach was bigger... hes currently in a 10 g then i was moving my sleeper into my 75 and then hmi into my 55 staying in my 55 is 1 angel , 2 tetras. a bala (still little) and a common pleco which stays hid all the time.these are the ones that will be staying in after i move my 3 fish out . oh i hope itll be ok :( that would totally suck algae if it didnt

It'll be best to rehome your common plec. Even a 75g will look too small for it. You can always stick with otos which are far safer with the horse-faced loaches.:)

I've actually read that horse-faced loaches aren't fans of their own species. Mine hangs out on the substrate and digs about. They're pretty chill.
