Im planning to make a few rock formations for my tanks. I was going to use aquarium sealant but Im thinking thats going to take a lifetime to dry plus cost a fortune. Would hot glue be ok as long as it says non-toxic? Or should I just stick with the sealant? Thanks.

I think it would be fine, I see some sort of hot glue used for aquarium ornaments (fake plants and such) all the time.

It's fine, but doesn't always hold up that well, long term. Drilling the rocks and using rods/dowels would work, or there's a fish-safe resin that used to attach frags for SW tanks that would fine to use in FW as well.

Gel superglue is usable for rock formations and holds nonporous stone like a vise. It's also good to make pinpoint adhesions that are strong. It's easier than drilling. It is also usable to attach moss and such to rocks. Just make sure it is cured before you put it in the aquarium.

A tube of aquarium sealant is not that expensive, but it flexes and will come undone if the "joint" is stressed.
