Hot/Warm Water Question

I use warm water in a bucket as no Python. The 55's I fill with a garden hose from the outside faucet. Having had no problems with this method. My water pipes are not pipes but rather all flexible plastic tubing. The newest thing in water supply systems. Regardless, I think that all water systems should be flushed for a couple of minutes before using. I feel that if my water is safe enough for me to drink it is certainly safe enough for my fish. I do not do changes early in the morning but later as I will have used any standing water that was in the supply system. For some, I can see where using warm water or a hose may not be a good idea. For me, it doesn't effect my fish one way or another. All of our LFS use the regular green garden hose for tank filling also.

I might add that I am on a private well and not a public water supply system.

Old thread I know, but thanks anyway. I've preheated the water by adding boiling water from a kettle, but it's freezing outside now. I'll switch to preheating from the (electric) hot water system. If all my fish die of copper poisoning I'll report back!

Copper pipping is getting used less and less here in the states. Your more apt to find it just near the taps as part of the faucet assembly. Mainly it is a labor savings on new construction.
