Can a single gold ram and triple red apisto safely be housed together in a 30 gallon? Tank is planted with rocks and driftwood

IMO, a 30gal is plenty of room for 2 pairs of dwarf Cichlids. Add another pair then maybe that would be too much, but 2 pairs==OK.

You can add more, but must have hiding spots, 30gl might be a little tight for 2 pairs, but you can try

it doesnt seem like a big enough footprint for 2 pair, but two individuals would be nice, im not trying to breed anything

I have had 2 pairs of Rams breeding at the same time in a 20gal before. Lots of show, but no issues. The babies even became free-swimming in the same tank.
