How about this tank for a betta or two?

You wouldn't be saving them from much. Just do a 5 or 2.5 gallon and put 1 betta in there.

ok ill do one betta in the 2.5. what kind of heater can i get for it?

Any good 25 watt heater will work fine in a 2.5 gallon. Personally, I've got a Hydor "Theo" heater-- it doesn't take up too much room and it keeps a steady temp in a small tank.

yeah, just do one male betta and that's it. I like the hyfor heater, too.

I also reccomend replacing the incandescent that comes with the tank with a compact flourescent.

Also, by "saving" them, your really helping to tell the store that people will continue to buy the bettas wich are kept in cups.

Yes, it really is one of those great moral dilemers (sp?). If you can afford it, I'd buy a fish off aquabid from an American dealer. Then there's a good chance it will be home bred by actual fish-lovers.

yeah im going to look for a cool betta fish. i found that heater and im going to order it.
