I found this in our garage. It's long enough and would make it easier to siphon/water change the 100 gallon i'm setting up. I could still put a piece of ply and styro on top (under the tank). Thoughts?

Put a few more screws into it to be safe. I'm also kinda worried about the ends but it looks like it'll work. What are the dimensions of the planks up top?

personally i wouldn't, all the tank stands i've seen have central support.
You could add 2 more legs and move the existing legs to support the ends of the unit.

How much do you weigh. Jump on it haha I really dont know with out seeing its better. I have to admit the Stand that came with my 120 gal looks Pathetic.

I would put a piece of plywood on the back for lateral support, and I bet it would be fine. If the tank goes all the way out to the ends of the top I might add support under those as well.

It's all 2x6's except that bottom shelf. Those are 1x6's.

Plywood on the sides and you will be fine for a measley 100 gal tank. That is a woodworking bench, perfectly overbuilt.

The 2x6 beams are center support...

I have had 75s with only posts at the last 4 inches on the ends, the beams from end to end never touched the tanks.. if the posts are each about 1/3 the way in, I agree with sheathing for lateral stress..
