Hello, I have a new aquarium set up about 3 months. Although I've had aquariums in the past this is the first time I have decided to add live plants. I have a 39 gallon (I think...36X12X19), Penguin 200 bio wheel power filter, Eclipse 36" natural daylight F30T8 lamp. Fish: 3 molly, 1 platy, l clown loach, l catfish (?), 2 cory, 3 giant danio, 1 peacock eel. Just bought an amazon sword echinodorus bleberi. How am I doing. Any fish/plant suggestions or changes? Smiles, Quill

Thanks...but few more questions...what is iffy about the eel...how may corys...didn't know the clown loach would get so big but is it ok for now or will it tear up plants, etc....will take pic of catfish.

Clown loaches can get to almost a foot long.

Not sure about the eel, I know peacocks are picky eaters, and have heard they are sensitive to water conditions.
3 cories are considered the min. for a group, 5+ cories is better.
the clown loach would do better in a group of 5+, and won't be happy at all in your tank, but it could stay for a few months until you rehome it.. I suggest you return it to your pet store.
They will nose around in the substarte, but shouldn't uproot or tear up a healthy plant with deep roots.

Also, welcome to AC =)

pic of catfish what kind?

I will turn in the clown loach and get a few more cory. The peacock eel I'll hang on to and see how all goes. I posted a picture of the unknown catfish..let me know about it. Thanks for all help. Smiles, Quill

looks like a pictus cat to me. get up to 5 inches may eat smaller fish.

Hmm, I have personally seen a 7"-8" pictus just like the one the OP posted a pic of at my LFS.
A pictus wouldn't do too well in your tank either, I'd suggest taking him with the clown loach.

And I'm happy to see you're doing the right thing for your fishies =)
