Hey guys,

Tank is 110 gallons, with 30 gallon sump/refuge, 45X turnover, currently FOWLR. 2 250 watt DE metal halides, PHosphate reactor, ASM G2 skimmer. Tank parameters.....

425 Calcium
4 Alk
8.1 PH
1500 Magnesium
0 Phosphates
0 Nitrates

Im wondering if my PH is a little low. I don't think so, but some people reccomend it to be around 8.2-8.3. I keep levels maintained with C-balance. Also, is my calcium a little high. I have heard between 380-420 is good. Im slightly over, but doubt it will be of any concern.

Opinions appreciated!!

I think that your ph is ok you're close enough. The calc is fine to if it's too high it'll just come out of solution I don't think that you have to worry about it either. I'd be concerned about the alk a little it actually looks a bit low ,"you mean kh right?"
Anyway hth

Readings look good, but it's hard to say about the alkalinity without the units (dKH or meq/L?). If it's dKH, then it's low (7 - 11 dKH is the normal range). If it's meq/L, then it's fine.

How long has it been running? You mention that it's "currently" a FOWLR... having thoughts of adding some corals and going reef? Your levels are in-line with typical reef readings. I don't know what fish you have, but your water chemistry and lighting are rather reef-like.

Hey guys, Alk is MGL.

Yes i do have plans on making it reef, but im trying to get tank stable before i do. Been a year now, i still going, although things are looking up......
