About 3 months ago I bought 5 ghost shrimp from Wal-Mart and all except 1 died within a month. Now, the one that survived has already molted once and is roughly 1.75" long. Is that the biggest he/she is going to get, or will it get bigger? Plus, it is now doing this thing where it will pull its tail underneath it all the way to its face and sit motionless for about 5 minutes and then go about its business. What is it doing? And, finally, should I put some more shrimp in there or will the one be ok? I have to find another place that stocks them since the Wal-Mart ones aren’t to healthy. Maybe Pets-mart will have them since the LFS doesn’t stock inverts.
And, I just wanted to note that the ghost shrimp were probably the best creature I ever got for my fish tank. They are the coolest thing to watch. I don’t really know why the others died, but I just figured it was because they were cheap Wal-Mart inverts.
