How Big Should I Go?

perhaps people are not looking into what the OP is talking about..
There is a big difference between upgrading to a larger tank for say a regular scape. Stones/wood with some monster fish.. Or upgrading to a huge tank with plants that require much more work, supplies and even bigger rise in energy bill.
If cfsin has that type of money to spend then go with the biggest tank you can fit in that space.. Other than that 75-100g is more than enough to work with in regards to a planted tank.

It pays to be tall, I can plant the bottom easily of my 80t which is 25" high on a 30" stand, hehe.
The different opinions are interesting ... and greatly appreciated.
I was originally leaning towards a 75 or 90 gallon, but now my thoughts are changing a little.
It seems to be sort of a trade off - more work = more options with fish, plants, driftwood, etc.

I say go with whichever end of the trade off you would feel best with...talk about non-committal 
That's exactly why I started this thread - my committal is really not a part of the equation. I love the hobby and can't wait to get started on the new tank. I first wanted the pro and con feedback from those of you who have these tanks now! Please, keep the feedback coming!
We really like schooling fish - rummy nose, cardinals. Letting a group of 40 or 50 go in a 150 gallon would be really cool.
Most bigger tanks you see seem to have discus and a couple of schoolers.
