everytime i got up to my gourami, i gets scared and crashes the glass
because of this its lip got injury
i would like some tips how it would not get scared of me
Move slowly and walk gently because it can feel the vibration. Keep your movements slow around the tank and then drop in food. In time it may get use to you.
spend time close to tank so the fish can check you out and see that you are not a threat. Gentle your movements, back off a little on feeding so they get hungry enough to look to you for food. then feed tiny ammounts more frequently as you spend time by the tank.
took my angelfish a month to really calm down for me. just when I though I succeeded someone visiting banged on the tank. took a couple weeks to deal with the resulting nervousness.
Completely agree with SnakeIce - once it looks on you as the hand of god that feeds it - it'll lose a lot of that fear. The only other thing I can think of is to give it lots of places to hide. My Clowns almost never used to come out because they only had one cave. The minute there were hidey holes everywhere they completely chilled out - cos they knew they could get away quickly.
My pearl Gouramis have calmed down a lot, thats prob coz i spend long amounts of time just admiring the tank etc. Get a heck of a lot of hiding places, holey driftwood, clam shells and lots of plants (gouramis love plants) And plus the plants make it luk so awesome Good luck.
