How can I fix a cracked tank?

Well the LFS didn't offer to replace it, although I can't say as I blame them. I wouldn't expect a car dealer to repair a car under warranty if I wrecked on the way home from the lot...
Soooo....I superglued the crack, and had two 1/4" glass plates that I siliconed to the inside and the outside of the tank across the crack. I'll post pics. The crack can't spread because it runs edge to edge. I'm going to let it sit for a while full of water in the garage and see what happens.
Thanks!
Robbie

Well I didn't think they would offer to fix it, but figured they could offer advice on repair.. Quite honestly with how high the crack is I would hope it wouldn't cause you any problems, as if the water is that high you'll have other issues. Hope it all goes well Robbie.

Thanks Grins and clown....here is the repair. It ain't purty, but I think it will hold. The super glue wicked into the crack from both sides, and I cut the silicone out of the inside corner and clamped it so the glass patch is holding on to the front glass too....I sure hope that makes more sense reading that than it did typing it:perv:.
I think it will be fine (knock knock knock).
Thanks!
Robbie

You might want to do one thing...when you place it in the stand, place it so the repaired section is in front. Tempting to hide it in the back but this way you'll not stress as much as it can be easily checked.

Good point....I was gonna stick it in the back.
