How can I get algae?

Ok, I saw several kinds of Macroalgae at the LFS. 1 looks like grape vine, the other is called "spagetti", the third kind is red and looks like shredded paper. Which kind should I get?

Oh, it will go to the refum mainly to improve water quality.

I recommend the spagetti kind, chaeto I presume. It may come with pods attatched.

well this is partially true, you might have low ph.

PH is 8.4?

im not saying you have low ph. this is something to consider, when your tank is tightly shut your co2 gets builds up and your ph starts to fall. read this article, its great to read

I actually never have to top off. I've got a tight fitting glass top on my tank, it lets the evaporated water drip back in. My specific gravity never goes up either, so I don't need to do fw topoffs.

OK, well what is the phosphate reading of the saltwater before you put it into the tank?
