I believe it was thailand that introduced mystery snails into the wild by accident to culture them for food.

I don't think that is such a good idea.

A lot of chemicals used in aquaria (such as medications) have the warning "Not for use with humans or fish intended for human consumption" or similar. True snails are not fish but I still think it would be a bad Idea to eat snails that have been exposed to aquarium chemicals.
