How Do I Clean My Python Vacuum Hose

i dont think its needed, but if you realy want to get a long piece of string, on one end a small weight on the other end a sizable piece of filter floss or cotton wool, i would not bother.

Bleach and water, rinse afterwards real good.
If you bleach early on and cosistantly you could keep it looking brand new for ever.
I bleached early on and kept up for a while but got lazy after a while and now I just don't care:)

You can bleach hoses to kill mold/algae. 20:1 water:bleach in a bucket or tub, I use the gravel vac end to scoop water/bleach into the hose & soak, rinse well & use dechlor/water the same way. I do this naked so I don't wreck my clothes, lol, or wear something you don't mind ruining.

Thanks Everyone for the advice. I was thinking about the washing machine. any thoughts on that one? I can fill it with hot water and bleach and let it soak. rinse, rinse, rinse, then rinse again after it soaks in tap water conditioner. Would this be alright or not?

i don't think the washing machine would really be effective. i'd rinse and repeat if I were you. But then again, if I were you I wouldn't bother with it.

If it gets any worse then I'll do the bleach in a bucket deal. I just am worried that it has bacteria in the ft hose and it will effect my fish. The reason for the concern is that I've lost a few of my fish in my 29 gal tank in the past few weeks. I've tested my water with the API liquid testing kit. Everything is good there. I do weekly water changes of 25% in all my tanks. I treat my hard well water with Aqua Safe tap water conditioner. I put this in as I'm filling my tanks. i clean and change my filters once a month. Not sure what Else to do? Oh, this tanks is 2 years old. It has neons, two different types of Cory's, snails, lfbnp, and a few small fish I got from msjinkzd.
