How do I feed my African Dwarf Frogs

They're dumb hunters, so if you have aggressive eaters in your tank you'll have to target feed them. Mine will take live or FD bloodworms from my hand.

I'm a newbie. I have 2 ADF.

Mine eat anything they can find--mostly flakes that the fish don't get and fall to the bottom. They are getting enough to eat b/c I've only had them 2 weeks and one of them has grown and has a little belly! I try to feed them HBH frog bites, but either the fish get them or the bites fall btwn the gravel and the frogs don't get them(as far as I know). I'm going to buy some long handled forceps and try to put the frog bites on the top surface of the little cave decoration the froggies like so much.

Does anyone else have ideas/suggestions.

Yes, I suppose I am lucky. I'm not sure my frogs even see/notice the frog bites, but the fish sure do and love them!

It's pretty funny to watch the frogs eat the flakes--they sniff and sniff and then lunge at the flake!. I usually have to "aim" the flakes their way b/c they apparently don't see well and have to smell their food.

I'm going to try a couple of more things to get them to try to eat the frog bites, but at least they are not starving.

Good luck to everyone who has picky eater frogs. I'm glad mine are little piggy frogs.

I have two in a tank and I actually feed them FD blood worms or brine shrimp though a tube and a syringe. They love it and come right to the tube every morning.
The problem we (the tank is at work) are having is that the ADF actually attacked a fish that we think was sick - it died that day along with all the other fish in the tank the same week. The frogs got sick but after treating the tank they are much better and acting themselves again. However, we are afraid to get more fish because we don't want out frogs to attack them. I think they are just curious but any ideas on what type of fish will work?

you can also use a turkey baster to target feed. I found that if I put a dish lid in the gravel out of direct current it was easier to target feed. www.pipidae.net has alot of info on adf's and acf's.
pamgillette- are you sure you have an adf and not an acf? adf's rarely attack fish and stay quite small while acf's will eat anyone who fits in their mouth and they get quite large. adf's have webbed toes and acf's do not.

adf's can be quite shy or quite clownish, I personally love them. They like caves and hiding places and often enjoy floating plants. There are very docile. Mine used to eat out of my fingers and would come to the glass and "dance" around for me. Good luck, they are a great addition to a tank.
