How do I make my fish get BIG?

Ya so I always see the same types of fish that I have at the LFS that they have somehow made ginormous. I am wondering if there is a secret trick to this because I sure can't make mine get past a certain size. Sorry for the newb question.

keep them in an appropriately sized tank, feed them a healthy and varied diet, change 50 percent of the water in the tank on a weekly basis. it's not magic.

1. Don't over stock
2. Don't get fish that are too small for the tank.
3. Do regular water changes.
4. Give it some time.

5. Feed a varied and healthy diet, including live food.
