I need some suggestions on what to use to tie my heater down to the bottom of my tank. There's too much coraline algae now, so the suctions don't work, and I don't have the metal clip to hook it to the back of the tank.

Zip ties would work, if there's something there you can zip it to. I would not use a rock to weight it down, since a) you don't want the heater in contact with something and b) rock on glass heater = broken heater eventually.
Otherwise, you can use the bracket that the suction cups are on, and weight the brackets down with a few small rocks or nylon bags of sand.
