My amanos have went into a breeding frenzy quite a few times. It kind of like a free for all with all the males going for one of the females. I'm not sure if the female gives out some kind of scent or signal but the males know when the time is right, then the chase is on.

Roan, I think it's a pretty good thread, since we're human and naturally curious about all kinds of things. With my new foal, my high school students have been asking me all kinds of questions about how horses do it, but the funniest one was "How do elephants do it?" They couldn't comprehend that mammals that large can mount one another!! Then they started on snakes, which I know not--I told them they have vents, but that 's my limit!! Shrimp--LOL!!!! :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

Funniest thing I've seen is the look on a guy's face the first time he sees a mare being teased. The MINUTE the stud drops, the guy's jaw HITS the ground!

Half the time it's envy, the other half it's just plain AWE.

Man, I would love some baby amanos. Those things are expensive and I was not wanting to have to buy more of them. I only have five in that tank. Two females and three males. That's not very many for a 75g.
