my kit says " Do not hold finger over open end of tube, as this may affect the test results" AP Inc. Honestly who cares though... I posted my opinion. Do what you want. We all have our own ways of doing things. Some people take more care than others. I cut corners here and there, I think we all do... To each his own right?

Hey there with the attitude ... I reread the posts and nobody said they were touching the water to their fingers while collecting in a straw or testing ... If you a referring to collecting the water with a straw ... once again, the water never touches your fingers.
Trust me I have no attitude. When i said i dont care i really dont. Its not my tank. Re read them again and tell me if they said they didnt touch the water... Is there nothing better to do than argue an opinion?
Well, when I started out, I used a big net, but found that to be utterly frutile. Then I used a trap to try and capture it; that didn't work, either. So, I finally resorted to dipping my tubes directly in the water---BINGO!! Works like a charm every time. I love the scientific method. Love testing water!! Happy fish, keep on swimming, keep on swimming . . . . . . .
LOL this might sound wierd but my mom is a nurse at a hospital and she gets the little bottleb that you pee in to test your pee and i use them to test the water!! they all are sterle so you know there isent any contaminating invollved! kinda wierd but it works
