How do you catch your holding female mbuna?

Ahh yes the whole tank full of rock and catching cichlids, whew i hate thinking about it, but at any rate weezer is right on track with that method aye, and less frustrating..

The big issue would to leave an area empty of rock to provide that divider a chance..

I couldn't resist putting that much rocks because I found a lot of nice looking ones of decent sizes at the new house construction site. As soon as I saw them, I went back with like 8 buckets and I filled all of them easily...

I think that site is gone now... :evil_lol:

hehehe what rocks and where hehehe wow my 120gal is a nightmare waiting to happen when and if i need to remove my tangs..

Oh by the way, I didn't mean I stole it from the constructor... :)

Those were rocks that were dug up from the ground when they started digging to create foundation. It was all over the place. It was in Montreal though...

I admit, I pull all my rockwork and chase the female til she submits. LOL

May not be the least stressful way for her, but I haven't lost any fry doing it that way. I tend to have a lot of holding females at a time, and just don't want to mess with it. My husband seems to just ask them to go into the net, and they swim right in! Irritates me every time. I call him the "Fish Whisperer."

The part that's painful is taking all rocks out and putting them back in... I think next time, I will simply not put as much rocks or may be get some types of rocks that are light with lots of holes...

Hmm I have an evil idea... Just drain all water from the tank and pick her up! haha.

:evil_lol: hehehe drain the water :evil_lol:

Ah yeah the chase the fish down with the net relentless theory works every time or they simply have a heart attack..
