How do you convince an 11yo boy glasses are cool??

Does he need to wear them all the time or just for reading, you may have said but I missed it.

I was 'supposed to' wear glasses starting in the 3rd grade for nearsightedness. Of course no one could make me so I didn't. It wasn't until 6th grade when I missed part of an assignment written on the chalkboard that my parents wrote a note to the teacher on the homework that I hadn't completed.I tried to tear it off, so the teacher ended up calling the house.

Reluctantly I wore the glasses. Then 7th grade came and again the glasses were toast. I just sat in the back and had someone take notes for me off the board, or I copied theirs during study hall.

Finally when I got my drivers license I had to wear my glasses for driving. But only for driving, and I cheated a bit by getting tinted glasses so I could claim it helped with the sun during the day and with headlight glare at night.

Once school was over I just wear them all the time, even for reading which I really don't need to. My eyesight is exactly the same as 3rd grade, no better no worse.
