how do you get a RBTA to detach

I ripped mine in half trying to remove it from the DT. It was stuck to two rocks. I have two now that live in my fuge , been there for like 6 months. I don't have any good(safe) ideas. I actually didn't care what happened to mine, it was huge and stinging a lot of different things, and if I change something in the tank the darn thing would move and create a path of death. So, now I have 2, go figure. They will end up in a 29 that I plan on setting up soon. Sorry, not really helpful.

you can gentrly pry them off with yoru fingernail. I've done this a few times with complete success. But if you dont want to risk damaging it, you can just put an ice cup on it's food and gently massage it around. It should start letting go.

You can also use a credit card but, the ice cube method or the air bubles are far safer. I wouldn't move it though unless you MUST it will likely go back to the area it's in anyway. They tend to locate themselves where ever they are happiest.
cheers

well some one is going to give me one but they are attached to a very large rock and he has no clue on how to remove it.

Similar to the credit card mentioned above, I used dress shirt collar stiffeners before. Gently try to squeeze it in (not very deep... just slightly) between the foot and the rock and do it all around. At some point it lets go.
