How do you among us whom are gifted with having a planted tank with fish get around the obstacle of having to plan around the filter intakes?
In addition, isnt it also difficult to plan on a type of filter due to surface release of CO2?

i only have a hang on filter, so i cant speak about the other types..

Thanks all, Black_Wolf :dive2:

I have a fluval 404 and at the intake is use an auqaclear quick filter. It acts like a pre-filter to the canister, the best part is that the size of the pre-filter spreads the inflow out and thus no more clogging problems.

On my co2 pump I use a foam filter over the intake which keeps that system clear.

As far as release of the co2 I keep the rate of flow down and the outlets lower in the tank to cut back on surface movement. So far it has worked great.

I just hid the inlet of my Fluval behind some swords. Can't hardly see it. The return line is in the back corner just below the surface pointing downwards. No surface agitation at all.

I put wisteria and ludwigia around my filter.
