HOW do you keep guppies alive?!

ILOVEBETTAS

It's Cory Lover's cat!
No matter how stable I keep my water conditions, and how much I clean my tanks, and have a high-er pH and listen to all other internet sites, I can't keep one guppy alive for more than two weeks.

What size tank to you house your guppies in and how many do you have. I had the same problem for awhile. What temp to you keep them at. I have found that they do much better at a lower temp around 76 to 78 degrees. Once I did this had no problem keeping them alive.

I keep my guppies at 78 degrees to and i got them from walmart of all places. they are doing well and the girls are working on my second batch of fry. what do you feed them and do you have other fish with them?

my gupps respond well to aqarium salt. you adding any?

IME, guppies are among the hardiest fish around. (Others' experiences may vary, of course.) What are your readings for ammonia and nitrites? Are these from a breeder who's heavily inbred his stock?

I'd think of other fish before adding salt.

Good question and I was thinking the same as well.:)
