How do you keep the cat off the tank?!

Mine have begun bracing themeselves for impact. Everytime they see me point the spray bottle at them, they tense up and squint like, "alright, I can take it, just do it."

hahahahaha oh man mine do that too, how funny.

Back when I used to have a cat I tried the squirt gun. It worked to get him to jump off but he'd just get back up there again as soon as I wasn't looking. One time I just picked him up and put him on top of the refrigerator where it's nice and warm. From then on he'd still get on the tank on occasion but he decided he liked the refrigerator better.

my cat is always going up on my tanks as well. the only time it really bugged me was when i had a screen lid on one of my insect tanks, which he tore up. it's glass now. most of my tanks are topless with a light fixture. he will walk either across the light fixture or right on the rim of the tank to look in. the only tank he doesn't like for some reason is the one that has red-bellied toads in it. it used to be his fave when it had fish in it. now he never goes up there.

They love the heat of the lighting. Computer monitors are great too :-P
The tape is a good idea, it will hate getting that stuck to its naughty little paws.

i had my barramundi in a 5 gallon as a baby and the lid was this plastic. diego liked getting on to until he fell in and desmond has a try at eating the cat hehe. now a nerf guns or putting his tail in the tank for the barra to have a go at scares him off pretty good.

lol, i let my cat fall in. Never went near them again :D

fail old thread...
