How do you keep your oscars?

here are some recent pics of my oscar. i've had him about 2 years now, he's 12" long and lives in a 150gal tank. minimal decorations to give him lots of swimming room. he eats an exclusive diet of XL NLS pellets, despite what any of the experts say about needing a varied diet he is extremely healthy compared to most other oscars i've seen at his size. current tank mates include a 5" red spot severum, 2 mesonauta guyanae festivums, and a 7-8" black ghost knife which is looking for a new home. the festivums are already claimed and will be moved out in the next couple of weeks.
