How do you know when a snail is dead?

Yea I have read about crayfish moulting and leaving the exoskeleton in there for them, so I assumed I should do the same for him. I was just pretty shocked that he did while in the seperate container and not in the tank, but I guess he feels safer in there alone (except the dead snail)

There's one thing certain about the good ole sniff test.....you'll definately know if the little guy has passed on!

have you changed its water in the past week and 1/2? what are the parameters like in the container he is in.

Sorry that you're snailed didn't pass the sniff test. I kept mine in a separate container when I treated ich as well. I did daily water changes though. Mine was just a large tupperware.
