How do you make an oranda harness?

For months now one of my orandas has shown mild symptoms of swimbladder distress. Nothing major, just a little bit of tilting forward when resting on the bottom and a little bit of tilting backwards when resting in midwater. (He's a proper round fat little oranda) This evening however he's suddenly lost his balance. When he rests he tilts upwards but before he flips over onto his back he rights himself. I'm just worried he'll exhaust himself and it'll affect his treatment

I've fed him a pea and the whole tank will be fasted for 3 days. If that doesn't help, does medi-gold have a positive effect on swimbladder issues??

I've seen loads of harnesses on the net for bottom-sitting orandas, how would I go about making a harness for a head-standing fish??

From the pics I've seen, its made out of gauze and tubes. The point is just to create a perfectly balanced floating device. So if you try to make one, good luck!! I'd love see what it would look like!

Try this. Its made of cloth of anything soft you can think of.

If he doesn't have severe problems, I wouldn't worry about making a harness. The potential problem with harnesses is that they are continually rubbing off the slime coat, which can lead to illness down the road. You can try finding a fish vet who would implant small inert stones in his belly to help ballast him. However, if he's not suffering, I would continue feeding him peas on a regular basis and don't worry too much about him.
