How do you make it hard? (water)

I have my 30gallon long which Is going to be empty when I put my two fish in the 75 and was thinking of making the 30 a Lake Tangawhatever My water is naturaly sort of soft. What can I do to make it more compatable with those little guys?

use crushed coral or coral sand for the substrate and add some crushed coral to your filter.

adding rock work can help raise hardness and pH

adding rocks will only increase GH and KH IF the rocks are calcarious ... i.e, contain calcium carbonate which will leach into the water. inert rocks of which there are a great many, will do nothing to the water.
