I tried boiling the cuttle bones last night for about 30 minutes. After that, I ran cold water over them to cool them down and placed them in the tanks. The sank like a rock
Hi,
I read your article on high calcium foods for snails and I needed to get them in quickly. I boiled rubber bands for 10 minutes and then tied the veggies to a stainless steel spoon which sank to the bottom. Doesn't look very pretty but it works. Maybe it'll work for the cuttlebone too.
You usually can also go to a pet store that sells live plants. Many times they have extra plant weights and will give them to you. Works well for veggies

Be careful, Most plant weights are made of lead, and while little is said of the negative effects it might have, I'm not a fan of adding heavy metals to my tank.just a thought for consideration, I have no proof that plant weights are a problem.
