How do you use THIS siphon vacuum pump grav?

I heard that they are no such things as stupid question but I guess this is an exception..






I keep pumping and pumping but the water will not flow by itself. I use to have another pump like this and it will automatically flow after a few pumps.
I think it because of the the button on top. It says to push, but other than that there are no instructions..




Can anyone out there or in here teach me how to use this piece of plastic?

those are really hand siphon pumps..they are designed to get water from the tank up and over then let gravity do it's thing.
if it's not working look for an air leak

but what does the PUSH button on the top do?

My guess is that you are supposed to push down on the pink part causing the green part to squish. Then, when you release it, water will be pulled up into the green part then down the other side creating a siphon.

Try pushing down on the pink thing all the way ... THEN putting it in the water... where did you get that thing anyway?

Hold your finger over the pipe that is not in your tank then push the button on the top, now release your finger and water should start to flow.

I have a different one but it has a screw vent cover near the bulb that needs to be tightly closed. I don't really understand it's purpose.
