how far do you drive for fish?

Furthest I've gone is 40 minutes into the city. But it was on the way to pick up some filters from eBay ;)

most of the LFS are within walking distance since i live in a pretty urban neighborhood. farthest i would have to say is traveling to the Petco's in Manhattan (1 hour subway ride) or a Petsmart in Bayonne, NJ. Another slightly far away fish store (that actually has good fish) is a 20 minute bus ride.

i have 6 stores within 40 minutes, and there are several other stores that i always visit when i am out of town, like when i drive to charlotte (2 hours away) there are three stores i can check out on the way.

There are several good stores in my area, but the best place is Davy Jones Locker in Albany, NY. That is 75 miles away and worth the drive. That's the farthest I've gone.

Mine's about 40 minutes away. I have a LFS about 5 minutes away, but they don't carry saltwater fish. :(

henkychif- Where is this located? I live about an hour away from Albany.

Edited to add, I just found their site. I'll definitely have to check it out. Where abouts do you live if you don't mind me asking?

The good LFS I shop at (The Wet Spot in Portland, OR) is about 35 minutes away.

There's a bunch of chain pet stores in a 20-25 minute radius.
