How fast do plecos grow?

just thougth i would follow up and say that my pleco has doubled in size since i made that post. maybe more than doubled. at this rate ill be moving him to someone else's tank or selling him back to the LFS before long.

what is size is too large for a 20gal. tank? i was thinking of taking it out around 5-6 inches. it would be nice if i could keep it longer.

* i have never seen a bristle nose pleco around here, but i think i may have to drive a little ways to find one. i think ill stick w/ one of those. they dont get too big for a 20 do they?
 
if you like pelcos, there are some dwaf varients, which only grow to around 5'' i belive.. i have on which is only about 2'' at the moment. i'll try and do some pictures. camera is a bit rubbish tho

i also have a sailfin.. hes a bit bigger around 1 foot ish, must be about 8 years old now
