about how fast will it grow in a 4.5wpg thriving no algae tank?

faster than glossos (i got that now, so good for comparing growth rate)?

if i buy a patch the size of a floppy disk, how long until it covers my 10 gallon foot print complete if i spread it out in a few smaller peices? thanks

I'll give you an idea. I have a nice bunch bound to a piece of glass that sits on my substrate. I have to trim it every week or it starts to look like Don King's hair.
When I trim it, tiny bits float to the surface. If I don't skim them off, they will, within 2 weeks, completely cover the surface of one of my 55 gal. tanks. Within one month this mass will be approx. 1'' thick. At this point I have to take gobs of it to my LFS or it's night-time in my tank.
I wish I had as much luck with all my plants as I have with Riccia.
And this is with only 160 watts over a 55 gal. tank(with pressurized CO2). Similar results in my 40 gal. with 110 watts.

Sorry, I cannot compare to glosso, but if you are injecting CO2 the growth rate is fairly rapid. But it does not SPREAD rapidly, so if you want a lawn, spread it out as thinly and evenly as you can and let it grow up from there. It thickens into mats quite effectively, but if you neglect a square inch it will take a good while to reach out and cover it.

By the way, I found I had two kinds of riccia (from a single purchase). There was the brighter green always floating type and a darker green 'sinker' riccia that would only float when pearling. It could be two different species (I have read there are many), I am not sure. But I ended up giving away all the brighter green floater stuff because the other was better for staying on my rock. FYI.
