so far its like a lil smaller then a golf ball i got light no Co2.

how fast till it grows to like a softball size?

a year, maybe. depends on how much light it gets, and how much nitrate and CO2. mine went from the size of a fist to the size of a football in 3 months.

that stuff grows like a weed in my tanks with no co2

let it get settled and wait before long you'll have moss you toss ;)

if you were close by I'd give you a smal bunch. I'll be trimming the tanks this week.

In good conditions even in lower light no co2 added tanks java moss can double in size every couple of months. With nutrients lacking its growth can be slow to the point that it would take a year or more to double if algae doesn't choke it out first.

You can buy it on Ebay. I just bought some from this guy.http://stores.ebay.com/Scotts-Living-Things

It was a decent size, healthy, and advertised as snail free. I have had it for a few days now and it seems great. Only $6.50 shipped.

It's tough to buy plants without snails if you buy them from a retail store.
