How frequently to feed fish?

I just want to be sure I'm not starving my fish. My tank is a few weeks old, and I have four zebra danios, a pair of guppies, and now at least six babies. (the female had babies yesterday) I've been feeding them flake food once every day, no more than what they can eat in 2-3 minutes. I'm also crushing some of the food for the babies. Do I need to feed them more frequently?

Fry and juveniles need more feedings compared to adults. Thrice a day should be fine although it would mean increased frequency of water changes but obviously the more feedings (not overfeeding) and water changes, the faster most fish grow.

Thank you, I figured the babies needed more food. And I'm going to have some fat and happy adults!

if you can, seperate the fry. it will make sure the adults are not being overfed, and make sure that they fry are not getting outcompeted for food by the stronger and faster adults.

This is the best idea.

I feed once a day, then no food next day, then it continues.

I feed most days, but my fry are kept seperate.

Once a day, Fry's 2-3 times a day .........:)

I feed my community fish once a day, but sometimes also give a *snack* later on in the day. My plecos are fed veggies usually overnight, and wafers during the day. Ditto on the fry, move em so they are eating what your giving.
