i have generally filled my tank to the bottom of the trim line and have had a bit of surface agitation due to that.

last night i needed to top off my tank because i couldn't sleep so i added 2 gallons of water which was just shy of overflowing my tank....and i had almost no surface agitation!!! yaya! which is good because it will help me keep my co2 in my tank.

anyone else fill their tank this high? any reason that i shouldn't do this again?

With a HOB- you kind of have to fill the tank up to the trim... I keep it as low as I can without the "waterfall" effect.

it really depends on what I have in the tank and what kind of filtration I use. i see no reason why you shouldn't fill it that high.

When I didnt have brigs I would fill it all the way up to the tippy top.

Filled to the rim. Mine are AGA so they have the black lip at the top and I fill it to the bottom of that.

2 of my tanks all the way to the top but my other I leave about an inch in the top exposed so my SA Lungfish has room to breath!
