How large of an aquarium for pufferfish?

I dont think they would have certainly died, but I wouldnt keep them in saltwater for long if they are figure 8's. Most brackish water fish can survive through some very radical changes in salinities because in nature, the tides and rainfall amounts play apart in how salty the water is. Mollies, for example, can acclimated to almost any type of water from fresh to saltwater and back, so your puffers could probrably handle some time in true saltwater.

Certainly your choice of course, but I bet you will be changing to a new puffer much sooner than you would normally have to. Sad thing to see, but like I said, your tank, your fish, your decision.

tommy, ive had these fish for about 2 years, my neighbors had these same fish for 3 years. neither of us had any problems. the fish are very healthy, and active now that i have seperated the tank in half

ive read the average lifespan is 5 years, so these fish are in good shape for their age.

You should post a pic or something, obviously not everyone's on the same page about what these puffers are.
