How long after ick treatment can new fish be added? I treated with salt and increased temperature. Also do I need to do a large water change after all signs are gone to decrease the amount of salt? Thanks

How long since the last sign? I maintain the salt and heat for a minimum of 2 weeks after the last visible sign of ich. I would not add any new fish to the system until you've changed out at least 75% of the water during the course of normal water changes.

Oh, and I definitely would not add anything that hadn't gone through quarantine...No point killing off the parasite to re-introduce it with a new fish.

Thank you. It has only been a few days since there were no signs. I have kept the temperature increased, and I will continue for the next week and a half.

It can be frustrating to wait, but I would rather be safe than sorry! I usually wait at least a month or longer when I've introduced new fish before I will get anymore. If there was some sort of disease I would wait even longer, but thats just me, I can be a little paranoid when it comes to the fish, because I've gotten so darn lucky so far!
