How long do you give a pleco until you figure it's dead?

I have 3 "mustachios". They were labeled at the LFS as a type of cory but they are far too large to be cories and I assume they are some type of syndontis, possibly a lace catfish. Jackie

I've seen Glyptothorax species sold as mustache catfish.

well to add on. My cat fish will hide so good I will not see it for a whole day
maby 3 "WOW" but 2 months its dead.sorry.

If they are similar to the Synodontis species, they may be a close relative in the same family,Hemisynodontis membranaceous and their common name is Moustache Catfish. They are super cool fish and can get to a foot long, They are very long-lived fish.
