How long does a kiddie pool last outside?

Have anyone ever left a kiddie pool outside with water for over a year. I just wondering how long these kiddie pool last outside all year with water. Will they cracked apart? I am not planing to raise fish in them. Just wanted to raise daphnia to feed frys.

We have one of those to bathe the dogs in. We left it out all winter and it still looks fine. I think as long as you don't drop kick it in the middle of winter when it is brittle you should be fine.

If you leave it in the sun the plastic gets brittle pretty fast. The one I had lasted about 1 year in the Florida sun. Better to just get one of those black ponds from the Big Box store. Seems as thought hey have UV inhibitors in them.

Did you have it fill with water all year in the sun? I already have 3 rubbermaid stock tanks. Just wanted to test the kiddie pool out.

My dad had one for the dogs when it got hot outside that we never messed with unless it needed water and it lasted for years. The dogs were a 70lb boxer and a 60 lb rot/lab mix. It was one of the super cheap pools you can get from wally world or kmart. I think youll be alright but personally I would fill it and test it maybe go play in it to see how it holds up or you can just buy a new one.
