How long does it take for scales to grow back???

i have a few kois, comets, and some fancy goldfish in my 135 gallon. some of my fish have some missing scales. does anyone know how long it will take for the scales to grow back? are they any medications out there that will help?

Not sure about goldfish, but one of my angels occasionaly lost a scale or two and within days I couldn't tell where it was.

Ya in my experience it has only taken a few day's. Just keep an eye out for fungus or baterial infection's.

As far as I've seen, the people here usually advise Melafix for treating fish injuries. I'm using it to treat my injured goldie right now.

i just woke up this morning to find my fantail goldfish (ryukin) with a scale or two missing and its red in that area. i had already been treating with melafix for a damaged fin.. is there anything else i can do for the red spot?

i found the culprit to my goldies scales missing and red.... it was the pleco .
he's had plenty of food .no reason for him to have done that. but he is going to be gone on monday. i moved him to another tank. til i can find someone who wants him.
