how long should i keep my uv sterilizer on?

I recently got a uv sterilizer and ran it for a few days, my green water is gone now , the question is do i turn it off until i need it again or do i keep it on 24/7 or a certain mount of days per week/month.

i wouldnt run it unless i needed it. if you wanted to run it i would put it on a couple hours a week.

I have the 9 and 25 watt units from PetSmart in my tanks, run them 6 hours at night when they main lights are off.

No problems so far!
