How long to cycle?

If I add water and media from an established tank, how long should i exspect for the new tank to cycle?

The tank size is 55g

If you're using filter media from an established tank it should be cycled now. If you wait to long to add fish the bacteria colonies will die and you'll have to start from scratch.
