I had 50+ eggs in the tank back in November, and have yet to see a baby assassin in the tank. About how long will it take before they are at a point where they will be above the gravel? Also, is there a particular time that they are more active (e.g., night or day)?

I've had 10 adults in the tank and have yet to see any babies. These guys are as frustrating as they come. Plenty of feeder snails in the tank too.

I feel your pain. I've had 20 or so since October or so. Lots of eggs but I've seen very few babies.

I saw the egg "squares" on many of the plants and decorations in my 10 gallon and never saw any babies. Then one day I see the tiniest Assassin on the tank glass.

Its been noted many times that the percentage of eggs actually hatching and surviving is a whopping 60-70%.

After that I would say you would actually see tiny babies with coloring around 3-4 months. Unless you really staring at the tank I would say around 2 months they are very noticeable.

cool, 3-6 months, thats a long wait, i have 2 assasin snails but picking up another 6 on thuirsday,. My couple lais last week and i just cannot wait to see the babies as my tank is infested with common aquatic snail............

Will not take too long for a 8 to kill of pond/bladder snails or rams or MTS.
