How long w/o a water change?

How long has your tank gone without a water change. I am in no way condoning running a dirty tank. I just want to know if any of you have been at one point as neglectful as me...two months, OUCH! :lipssealedsmilie: I'm sure my fishies would kill me except for the fact that I feed them. This was before I started being active here in AC and I didn't know how bad it was. I went through a lot of deaths but somehow all of my danios survived, the little buggers. :grinno:

I broke up with my parents and it so since the tanks are at their house, it was around four months. I don't recomend it.

My longest that my tanks didn't get attended to (a week and a half) was when i was in the hospital. But eventually i got my boyfriend to do them

Vote for the worst one. I am referring to when people forget for a week all together. Most people are pretty rigid when it comes to their wc schedule though...

Long story, but I was not able to access my 30G for 4 weeks. When I was finally able to get to it all of the fish were fine and the only thing out of wack was only off by a tiny bit.

I don't know if it was because they were not being actively fed and so were relying on the plants/snails in the tank and the biomass decreased or if the guardian fish-angel was watching out for them.

But I immediately started slow gradual water changes everyday for a week and food. Not one of the fish was lost and none had any signs of stress.

Bizarre.

addition.... I have changed the location of the tank so it is always accesible now.

the longest I havent done a water change was............1 month when I went to poland. all my fish survived except for one giant danio.

More than a month. when i first started keeping fish (guppies, of course) i was one of those people who topped off whatever water evaporated until the tank looked kinda dirty, and then i took everything out, rinsed the gravel, rinsed the tank, and set it all up again. i think i did that two or three times in 6 months until i found this site.
