Just cories?
I think there is some sort of square foot rule for cories -- too bad I can't recall it. (doh!)
10 or 12 wouldn't be too crowded if the total bioload wasn't much due to other fish. 15 might get crowded depending on the open floor space. When I had 12 in quarantine in a 10 gallon I was surprised that it did'nt seem too crowded, they like to be close together, of course I was changing water every other day. In larger numbers they seem to break off into small groups of 3 to 5 fish.
But you have to balance that with the other fish in the tank. In an overcrowded tank cories will suffer from the pollution in the gravel and lose their barbells, then the infection can kill them if it continues.
