welll let everyone GASP !!! because I have a 5.5 gallon with breeding endlers black bars & peacocks, i sell them often, but there are ALOT in my heavily planted 5.5 gallon !! these fish at adult size are only about a in" , if, and mine seem very happy, I have been breeding then in this tank now for 6 mths until I can get my 20 gallon de salted . and I have had NO deaths. NO sick . so I do not understand why you say they will die in this situation , actually they do really well IMHO ~~~~ go ahead and raise your endlers they are a really neat fish , and like you said when it gets overcroweded you can alwasy take some to teh LFS, or just have a sell in the S&S . these fish are buetiful and very fun to watch and my tank is heavily planted with wood & moss everywhere !!!! good luck, use your own' judgment, and have fun !! watch your fish , and do what is best for them .
