How many fake plants and what kind of variety would be nice with a 20 gallon tank? What are some other good accesories for inside of the tank for the fish?

-thanks

Well IMO silk is the way to go when using fake.
I like the seagarden plants a lot...
You can easily make niece hiding spots and a nice looking aquascape with those.
I think besides that fish might appreciate a cave or 2.

When i first started out i was really into the tacky decor - now i cant stand it. Going from that i'd say a stack of nice rocks or a rock cave looks way better than the spanish galleon or german submarine with hole decoration. lol

You could also add some driftwood, it makes the aquarium look more natural.

i love seagarden plants, they are the only fake ones i buy. When getting them grab some tall ones for the background, and medium and small ones to create depth. As far as color, most of my plants are about the same color range (of green) and then used some red plants for the focal point (using the rule of thirds) which i placed behind driftwood, but you could use rocks or a cave. If you really want to get into it, you can play with shapes and techtures of leaves. Oh, and odd numbers work best: odd number of plants, odd number of type of plants.

how many plants really depends on how full you want your tank to look. I am sure that you can play around with the amount you want and add more along the way.
